Project description:

Market Square, Cambridge

The Cambridge City Council was planning a large-scale redevelopment scheme for Market Square.

I created an adaptable environment for our ever-changing world: the market can pop-up like an ad on the internet but can disappear just as quickly.

The result is a multifunctional space: market, concert / film screening venue and a space for protests. The new layout also makes it easier to navigate the square. The design is also sustainable: because of online shopping the square can loose its commercial function and become a community hub .

All drawings were hand-drawn.
The project has been exhibited in the Guild Hall, Cambridge by the City Council.
